Disney Pixar's Coco: Family Night

Disney Pixar's Coco is coming to theaters November 22nd. and from what I've read, it's a beautiful film that does justice to the Mexican culture. Since Caiden's in a Spanish Immersion program, every year his school puts on an amazing Dia de los Muertos show  - so you can imagine his excitement about the film! Well, we're all pretty much excited...are you?

Synopsis:

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Héctor (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.

Family is the theme behind Coco, so to get the kids even more excited, we had a Family COCO night! AND so can you...

No night of activities is complete without a few sweets, right? So I went to our local Mexican grocery store to pick-up some pan dulces (Mexican pastries).YUM.
I made homemade Mexican Hot Chocolate (recipe below) and downloaded some fun free printables. Scroll down to print.

It was a night of fun sweets and getting creative together, as a family. Hope this inspires you to do the same. Make sure to download the Family Tree, its a great way to talk about your family's history.
